FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

HINO TRUCKS ANNOUNCES DUAL STEER MODEL

May 1, 2008

Responding to the growing need for high-quality trucks specially designed for waste management and street sweeper applications, Hino Trucks has announced the introduction of a new model ideally suited to this vocation. Available as part of the manufacturer’s 2009 model lineup, the Dual Steer truck will be unveiled at the Waste Expo, May 5, in Chicago’s McCormick Place.

The new model will be outfitted with driver controls mounted on both sides of the cab, and the ignition switch centrally located between the two control stations. “This new model will give waste management and municipal fleets the flexibility they need in this demanding field,” said Glenn Ellis, Hino’s Vice President of Marketing and Dealer Development. “This truck is ideally suited to the challenging start-and-stop environment these drivers work in. The outstanding maneuverability, great visibility and quiet engine makes the Hino truck perfect for operating in urban and suburban neighborhoods. Our roomy cab design allows for equal driver’s space for both the left and right hand driver positions.”

The dual steer option is available on all Hino Trucks models ranging from the 14,050 GVW model 145, all the way up to the 33,000 GVW model 338.

Hino Trucks U.S.A. is headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, Mich. The Toyota Group Company is the fastest growing medium duty truck nameplate in North America, and has assembly facilities in Long Beach, Calif., and Williamstown, W.V.
