Hino Announces 2007 EPA Surcharge




Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, October 19, 2006 Hino Trucks announced to its dealers that the 2007 EPA compliant engine surcharge will be $3,950. Nick Vermet, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Customer Support of Hino Trucks, said, “This announcement places our dealers in a very advantageous position against the competition who have announced 2007 EPA surcharges in the range of $4,500 to $5,700. Because of our ability to share technology with trucks in Japan, to meet the Japan 2005 emission regulations, we are able to provide our customers with a proven, cost effective solution. The combination of our excellent fuel economy, proven durability and high demand for our conventional trucks in the resale market, make our trucks a great value for our customers.”

Hino Trucks has scheduled a series of 2008 model year launch events for its dealers and customers beginning the week of October 16, 2006. During these launch events, drivers, fleet owners and the likes are invited to stop by to test drive and learn about Hino’s new 2008 model year trucks. Here are the schedules for those events:
  • Chicago’s Odium Expo – October 18 th, 3-5:30 PM
  • Philadelphia’s Valley Forge Convention Center – October 27th, 3-5:30 PM
  • Orlando’s Universal Studios – November 8th, 3-5:30 PM
  • Dallas’ Texas Stadium – November 15th, 3-5:30 PM
  • Fontana’s California Speedway – December 13th, 3-5:30 PM

Hino Trucks will begin producing their 2008 model year line up at its Long Beach, CA plant in early March, 2007. Hino Trucks compete in the class 4 through 7 light and medium duty truck markets, and is the fastest growing truck OEM in the U.S.
