Hino Trucks Announces Donations To City Of Novi And Novi Public Schools

NOVI, MI –  Hino Trucks, a Novi based company, is contributing to the City of Novi and Novi Educational Foundation with financial donations to support our community partner and environmental initiatives.

The first donation is $25,000 to the Novi Parks Foundation and can be used toward environmental improvements at the Parks, such as solar panels, rain gardens, butterfly waystations, and invasive species removal.  As a leader in the manufacture of environmentally friendly vehicles, Hino Trucks is committed to conducting business in a manner that protects the quality of the environment and conserves natural resources.

In addition to the Parks Foundation donation, Hino will donate $25,000 to the Novi Educational Foundation a 10-year scholarship program. “Hino embraces its responsibility to the community where we live, work, and do business and align our charitable activities with corporate objectives and the importance of education.  We hope that this scholarship will make a difference in the lives of Novi High School students that are furthering their education,” said Joe Whalen, Director of Human Resources for Hino Trucks.

“Being a good corporate citizen is an integral part of Hino’s culture,” Whalen continued.  “Hino Motors Sales’ corporate headquarters has been in Novi for over 10 years, so when it came time to build a new campus that would bring together Hino Motors Sales and Hino Motors Manufacturing under one roof, we knew Novi would be a great partner.  We are grateful to the City of Novi for their partnership as Hino U.S.A. continues to expand its footprint in the United States.”

Steve Matthews, Superintendent of the Novi Community School District added, “The Novi Community School District is excited that Hino Trucks is partnering with the Novi Educational Foundation to support students in Novi. This partnership will make it possible for students to continue to make a contribution to our community and continue their education.”
