Meet The Recipient Of The Hino Motors First Ever Novi Public Schools Scholarship

NOVI, MI – Hino Trucks is pleased to announce the first-ever recipient of the Hino Motors Novi Educational Foundation scholarship, part of a 10-year, $25,000 program.  The scholarship attracted over 50 students to apply and was awarded this week at the Novi High School Local Scholarship breakfast ceremony.

To be eligible for the Hino Motors scholarship, an applicant must be a Novi High School student admitted to a college or university in the fall, complete an essay on what leadership means to them and participate in extracurricular activities.  The winner, Alivia Hart, will attend a local Michigan University and consider Environmental Engineering.   “The Environmental Engineering Degree will allow me to use my knowledge to create positive change in the world. I would like to be involved in issues such as protecting water quality, global warming, auto emissions, and ozone depletion to name a few,” said Hart.

“We congratulate Alivia and all of the Novi High school students that participated.  All are well-rounded, accomplished students that demonstrated outstanding scholastic achievement and community service,” said Joe Whalen, Director of Human Resources for Hino Trucks.   “Hino embraces its responsibility to the community where we live, work, and do business and align our charitable activities with corporate objectives and the importance of education.”
